Give the dice
somewhere to live.
A one-off commission with two jobs: roll the dice during play and keep them together between sessions.
A role-playing group here in Melbourne wanted something better than a cardboard tube to roll their dice down: a proper centrepiece for the table, with somewhere to keep the dice between sessions. The answer became a digital tower design in the spirit of oriental architecture — tiered roofs, latticework and lantern reds — developed as a one-off commission.
Open the wings.
Find your dice.
The side towers swing out. The rooftop sections open. The building becomes a storage system.
Each side tower reveals a rack for three dice, with two further caches beneath the rooftops. The design gives a complete polyhedral set a place of its own.
Drop.
Tumble.
Reveal.
Drop a die through the top. A run of internal baffles is designed to vary its path before it exits through one of the release doors into the pool at the base.
The tower is a completed digital design. Physical roll performance will be tested and refined after parts are sourced and the model is assembled.

Tiered roofs, latticework and gold accents turn a practical gaming object into a small piece of fantasy architecture.
Designed, modelled and refined in a single week — from first sketch to finished digital model. Parts procurement is the next stage; the photographs on this page are digital renders, not photographs of a completed physical build. The quoted commission price was A$300 all-inclusive: design, parts sourcing and delivery. If your table deserves its own tower, the commissions bench is open.
