SOLAR OCEAN COLONIES / TERRAN ARCHONITEBRUNSWICK → SERAPHIMA

ISLA
MATILDA.

A waystation at the edge
of a much bigger story.

Fold open the wings. Dock a ship. Stay for a coffee.
A frontier outpost built for display, play and the adventures nobody planned.

01 / MAKE YOURSELF AT HOME

Small outpost.
Complicated lives.

On Seraphima, beneath the troubled skies of the Wraith Nebula, a traveller can find shelter, repairs and a place at the café.

An archaeologist has arrived with an enormous alien key. A police officer’s encoded package waits aboard the Void Angel. The heirs of House Aster Veyr are uncovering clues to their mother’s lost expedition. The station’s memories don’t quite agree with anyone else’s.

It was supposed to be a quiet stop for lunch.

03 / ENGINEERED FOR CURIOUS HANDS

Built to move.

A rounded, pill-shaped shell. Inverted building techniques. Wings that fold out to put the rooms within reach.

Operate the elevator and linked airlocks, lift the shield-generator cover or investigate the inorganic replicator. There’s an emergency hatch for when your investigation goes poorly.

OPEN IT

Rooms within reach.

Folding main wings, a lifting glass dome and opening walls bring the furnished interiors into play.

TURN IT

One door at a time.

Turn the drone bay to operate the linked airlocks. Rotate the radar dish to raise or lower the elevator.

EXPLORE IT

Details worth finding.

Look beneath the shield cover for Terran Archonite and House Aster Veyr lore. Or check on the station’s less welcome residents.

04 / LEAVE THE STATION

Two ways out.

Void Angel picket runner and Capybara rover, with open cockpits and cargo bays
09 / Vehicles / built to swoosh

Void Angel.

A compact Curvature Drive picket runner for hops between systems. Its pilot lies down to cope with gravity shear. When the ansible is unsafe, someone still has to carry the message.

Capybara.

An open-chassis rover for cargo, personnel, expeditions and search and rescue. A practical little workhorse from Luna-based Terran Archonite engineering. Everyone aboard needs a seat.

05 / THE UNFINISHED WELCOME

Fourteen lives.
One very strange lunch.

A knight with a guitar. A bounty hunter and her uplifted crow. A duke who would quite like to finish his meal.

Matilda, the station’s artificial intelligence, watches through her holographic cats. Furniture, equipment and small domestic touches make this a place people inhabit. Follow their story, or give them an entirely different afternoon.

A first port of call.
A universe to build.

Duty. Legacy. Covenant.

The Terran Archonite carries its history in white armour, dark-blue accents and noble-house heraldry. Once rulers of the human sphere, its houses still command vast armadas.

Isla Matilda belongs to Solar Ocean Colonies, my original setting and continuing series of space builds. Each civilisation has its own architecture, colours and technology. You should recognise who built a ship before you spot its insignia.

Room for your imagination.

Starports, settlements, spacecraft and rival factions give this setting room to grow. I plan to share my original faction guides, heraldry and design conventions as open-source resources for fellow fan designers.

A visiting freighter. A rival outpost over the ridge. I’d love to see ships I never thought of arriving at this station.

ALREADY EYEING UP THE PARTS?
